Once you install the required Fabric Servers, API Server/Director Console, LPSM, and Fabric-enabled LogPoints, you need to configure the Director setup to use it.
Follow the steps below to configure and integrate the servers and make them work in the LogPoint Director setup:
Upload a valid Director license from the Director Console if you have not already done so. Refer to the How the Director License Works section for details on the working of Director license. Refer to the Uploading a Director License section for details on uploading a Director License.
Integrate Director components.
2.1. Configure Fabric Network, Fabric Storage, and Fabric Authenticator in the LogPoint Search Master. Refer to the Configuring Logpoint Director in LPSM section for details.
The Fabric Network connects the LPSM with Fabric Server(s) via a private tunnel(s) and configures it to work in the Director setup. The Fabric Storage allows the LPSM to access the distributed file systems. The Fabric Authenticator ensures that only authenticated and authorized users can access the files hosted on the Fabric Storage.
Warning
It is mandatory to configure Fabric Network, Fabric Storage, and Fabric Authenticator sequentially, to correctly setup the LPSM in the LogPoint Director setup.
The further steps of the LogPoint Director setup does not work if you do not configure Fabric Storage after configuring the Fabric Network. Properly configure the Fabric Storage before carrying out the steps that follow.
2.2. Create LogPoint Pools in the LogPoint Search Master. Refer to the Creating a Logpoint Pool section for details.
2.3. Configure Fabric Network, Fabric Storage, and Fabric Connect in regular LogPoints to make them Fabric-enabled LogPoints. Refer to the Connecting Logpoint to the Director Setup section for details.
The Fabric Network connects a LogPoint with Fabric Server(s). The Fabric Storage allows the LogPoint to access the distributed file systems of the Director setup. The Fabric Connect makes a LogPoint work in the Fabric-enabled LogPoint mode. The Fabric Connect also nests the LogPoint in a LogPoint Pool.
Obtain an authentication token from the Director Console to use the API exposed applications. Refer to the Obtaining Authentication Token from Director Console section for details.
