Logpoint installation combines installing ISO files, upgrading to recent versions, and configuring your system using console commands. You must have Logpoint ISO for a fresh installation. Go to Installations to access it. To upgrade your existing Logpoint to a later version, you must have the Logpoint PAK file of the corresponding version, go to Updates to access it.
Logpoint’s version is divided into major, minor, flexpatch, and revision number. For example, in Logpoint version 7.8.1.2, the major version is 7, the minor version is 8, the flexpatch version is 1, and the revision number version is 2.
Go to Settings >> System Settings >> Updates in the UI to view the version of your Logpoint.
Logpoint Version¶
Major Version indicates significant updates in Logpoint, which may introduce major features, architectural changes, or other significant modifications.
Minor Version indicates smaller but still notable updates or enhancements in Logpoint. This may include new features, bug fixes, or vulnerability fixes.
Flex[ible] Patch[ing] in Logpoint is accumulative, allowing you to skip frequent updates after each incremental release. Every new FlexPatch release accumulates all the updates from previous releases. Similarly, each previous update leading to a minor release is carried out in each increment.
Revision Number indicates minor updates or fixes, often addressing specific bugs in Logpoint. These updates are usually incremental and may not introduce new features but focus on improving stability or resolving particular problems.
