There are two ways to monitor entities:
Centralized Monitoring Dashboard lets you monitor the health status of your Logpoint machines and Director components. It lists version information of Integrations and Log Sources installed across Logpoints connected to Director.
Centralized Monitoring Dashboard¶
Centralized Monitoring Dashboard consists of 5 parts:
Machines
Director Components
Dashboard Settings
Integrations
Log Sources
Machines gives the health information of Logpoint machines, based on thresholds that you can configure through Dashboard Settings. Go to Dashboard Settings for more information.
The health statuses of Logpoint machines are:
Healthy: All the health metrics are under the threshold.
Warning: Some of the health metrics have crossed the warning threshold but are under the threshold.
Error: Some of the health metrics have crossed the threshold.
Director Components gives the health information of Director API, Director Fabric and LPSM. The health statuses of Director Components are:
Healthy: All the health metrics are under the threshold.
Unhealthy: More than half of the health metrics have crossed the threshold.
Degraded: Half or less than half of the health metrics have crossed the threshold.
Offline: Director may be offline due to an internal error in the Logpoint, network, an error between Director and Logpoint, or if Logpoint was shut down.
Dashboard Settings facilitates the configuration of threshold and warning threshold values for the health metrics for the machines in each pool.
Integrations lists all integrations installed on Director connected Logpoint machines. You can use the list to compare integration versions installed on different Logpoints.
Log Sources provides a centralized view of all log sources configured across all Director Connected Logpoints.
You can use the the SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 command to monitor the status of Director Console components using OIDs.
Director Console uses 1.3.6.1.4.1.54322.2 as the base OID to get a list of the exposed OIDs and their corresponding information. You can also use the OID of the individual system components and services in Director Console to retrieve their status.
In order to monitor Director Console components, you need to open UDP port 161 to connect to SNMP. Go to Port information of the Director setup for details on how to open a port in the Director setup.
