The components of the Logpoint Director setup are:
Logpoint Search Master (LPSM)
Director Console
Director Fabric
Logpoint Search Head
Distributed Logpoints
Logpoint Director Architecture¶
Logpoint Search Master (LPSM) is the user interface to create Dashboards, Alerts, Reports, and perform search queries on all the Logpoints connected to the Logpoint Director setup. LPSM also impersonates the changes made in the connected Logpoints instantly and vice-versa.
The Director Console lets you create and manage the configuration settings of the Fabric-enabled Logpoints divided into different pools.
The Director Console User Interface offers the UI of the features exposed by the Director Console APIs, along with some additional features.
Note
The functionalities of Fabric-enabled Logpoints are not disabled from the User Interface when it is in the Co-Managed mode. The Co-managed mode allows Logpoint users to carry out their configuration on their own, despite being connected to the Director setup. The Director Console API and Director Console User Interface are blocked in this case. Refer to the Co-Managed Mode section for more details.
Director Fabric ties together the Director Console and Logpoint Search Master with the Logpoint servers to create a functional Director setup. It consists of one or more Fabric Servers and an API Server.
Fabric Server acts as a communication bridge between the API Server, LPSM, and the Logpoints. The server regularly synchronizes and updates the local data of the connected Logpoints to maintain a copy at all times. It allows the Director components to access the data when required.
Fabric Server Applications:
Fabric Proxy is a coordinated service used for data and configuration management in the Logpoint Director setup.
Fabric Storage stores applications, patches, and CSV files.
Fabric Authenticator is a network authentication protocol used to gain access to the Fabric Storage.
API Server is a configuration management platform for the Logpoint Director.
The API Server exposes various APIs to manage configuration settings on behalf of Fabric-enabled Logpoints. You can create and manage the configuration settings of the Fabric-enabled Logpoints divided into different pools, using the APIs.
Refer to the API Exposed Applications section for details on the APIs exposed in the Director setup. Refer to the Director Console API Documentation for details on the usage of the exposed APIs.
