Install AAHC
Installation
The installation process cleans the disk entirely. Make sure you back up your files before installing AAHC.
To install and get started using Applied Analytics, you need to:
Check System Requirements.
Upload a New SSL Certificate to Connect with Logpoint.
To convert timestamp values into your preferred date format, install the
Format DatecommandTo display up to 10,000 logs from the search results, install the
Randomizecommand.You can customize storage partitions during installation.
Configure network interfaces.
You can also install and administer Applied Analytics using the command line.

Upload a New SSL Certificate
Logpoint recommends uploading a new SSL certificate to the Logpoint server instead of using the default SSL certificate that comes with the ISO. The format of the certificate must be in Privacy-enhanced Mail (PEM).
If you are using a multi-level SSL certificate, upload the full certificate chain onto AAHC for secure communication.
Go to Settings >> System Settings from the navigation bar and click System Settings.
Click HTTPS from the left navigation bar.
Browse and upload the certificate and the key.
Click Save.

Updating Logpoint
We recommend you update AAHC to its latest version.
Download the Logpoint .pak file from the Help Center.
Log into the remote Logpoint server.
Go to Settings >> System Settings from the navigation bar and click Application.
Select Import and Upload the downloaded .pak file.
Install the Format Date Process Command
Install Format Date Process Command to convert timestamp values into your preferred date format. You can specify the exact format in which you want the timestamp to be converted.
Download the Format Date Process Plugin .pak file from the Help Center.
Log into the remote Logpoint server.
Go to Settings >> System Settings from the navigation bar and click Application.
Select Import and Upload the earlier downloaded .pak file.
Install the Randomize Process Command
Install Randomize Process Command to display up to 10,000 random logs from the search results.
Download the Randomize .pak file from the Help Center.
Log into the remote Logpoint server.
Go to Settings >> System Settings from the navigation bar and click Application.
Select Import and Upload the earlier downloaded pak file.
Download latest AAHC ISO file
Go to Applied Analytics in the Logpoint Help Center.
Enter your credentials and log in.
Click Applied Analytics For Healthcare v1.8.0 ISO.
Download the ZIP file from Download.
Extract the ZIP file.
Installing AAHC v1.8.0 ISO
Power on the Logpoint instance or server that has the ISO file.
On Network connections, you can manually configure the network interfaces or proceed with the default configurations. By default, AAHC uses the IPv4 protocol with Automatic (DHCP) configurations for the first network interface.
If you have multiple network interfaces, you must manually enable and configure each successive interface.
To learn how to configure network interfaces, go to Configuring network interfaces.

Click Done.
The AAHC ISO automatically partitions your storage devices for the installation using the following sizes:

You can manually customize storage devices by selecting Reset. To learn more, go to Customize storage partitions.
Select Done.
Select Continue to start the installation process.

Select Reboot Now. 8.1. The system reboots once more to complete the installation. 8.2. If the installation process fails, you must erase all the data on the disk before reinstalling AAHC.
After the installation completes, you must either manually eject the boot disk or select the option to boot from the hard drive from the Boot Manager. If you don't, the entire process will repeat.
Login to the installed system:
Change the password immediately using the
passwdcommand.The README.txt file in the home directory of the web-admin user gives you an overview of the actions that can be carried out.
Use the
ifconfigcommand to view the IP address of the installed AAHC machine.Enter the IP address in your browser to access the AAHC Interface. Log in with:

Configuring Network Interfaces
To configure a network interface, select it.

Select Edit IPv4.
Select a Method:
If you select Automatic (DHCP), the network interface settings are automatically set.
If you select Manual, enter a Subnet, Address, Gateway, Name servers, and Search domains.
Select Save.
Customizing Storage Partitions During Installation
In Storage Configuration, select Reset.

Select Use As Boot Device for the device to boot AAHC on.

Select Add GPT Partition for an available device.

Enter Size. The recommended size is at least 8GB for a new partition.

Select swap in Format and select Create.
Select Add GPT Partition again for the remaining size.
Select Leave unformatted in Format and select Create. This unformatted partition can be used to hold the logical volume group.

Select Create Volume Group (LVM) to create a new volume group.

You can also create software RAID (md) disks.
Enter a name for the volume group and select Create.

In the new volume group, select Create Logical Volume.

Enter a Name, Size, Format, and Mount point for the new logical volume.

You must configure at least the following logical volumes before you can proceed with the installation:

The installer automatically provides the names and mount points for the next default volume group every time you select Create Logical Volume.
Select Done after finalizing your storage configurations.

Upgrade AAHC Patch
Before upgrading to a new version, ensure Logpoint is configured in AAHC.
Go to Applied Analytics in the Logpoint Help Center.
Click the AAHC patch that you want to install.
Make sure the patch you are installing is compatible with your AAHC's current version. Go to Versions and Dependencies.
Download the ZIP file from the Download section.
Extract the ZIP file to obtain the
.pakfile.Copy the
.pakfile to the/home/web-admindirectory of the AAHC server.Run the following command to install the patch:
AAHC automatically reboots after installing a new patch.
You must log in again after installing the patches.
AAHC prompts you to change your password after upgrading to a new patch.
