Monitor Dashboard Settings

You can configure each pool’s settings from Dashboard Settings. Dashboard Settings are the Duration, Threshold and Warning Threshold parameters for each individual setting.

  1. Go to HEALTH MONITORING.

  2. Click Dashboard Settings.

  3. Click the () icon on the Action column.

  4. Enter Duration, Threshold and Warning Threshold values, and change the Direction of each parameter as required.

    • Duration: is the period of time the threshold rule is to be applied. The period of time starts immediately when you save your settings.

    • Threshold: is the level or point where a parameter value is considered in error, or has reached a level that is not healthy.

    • Warning Threshold: is the level where the status of the health metric parameter is at risk.

    • Direction: controls whether the parameter value should be above or below the set threshold.

These settings are preset as they are generally applicable for all Logpoint users.

    • CPU

    • Memory

    • I/O Wait

    • Desk Usage

    • Open Files

    • Last Log Received

You can change the parameters if you need to.

You need to adjust the following settings yourself, depending on your specific environment and/or requirements, for example number of devices logs are received from.

    • Norm Front EPS

    • Norm Front Queue

    • Normalizer EPS

    • Normalizer Queue

    • Store Handler EPS

    • Store Handler Queue

    • Enrichment Queue

For example:

CPU has a Duration of 6 Hrs, Threshold of 95%, Warning Threshold of 90% and Direction showing an upward arrow.

This means:

If CPU usage has an average value of 95% or above within 6 hours from now, then the metric will have an error status. And if the CPU usage has an average value of 90% or above within 6 hours from now, then the metric will have a warning status.

The parameters that can be configured for each Pool are:

Parameter

Memory

I/O Wait

Disk Usage

Last Log Received

Acceptable time intervals for last log received.

Norm Front EPS

Store Handler EPS

Limits for events per second processed by the store handler.

Store Handler Queue

Acceptable queue length thresholds for processes in the store handler.

Enrichment Queue
