Releases

There are 4 types of releases:

  • Major Version — includes significant updates in Logpoint, which may introduce major features, architectural changes, or other significant modifications.

  • Minor Version — includes smaller but still notable updates or enhancements in Logpoint. This may include new features, bug fixes, or vulnerability fixes.

  • Flexible Patch (Flex Patch) — accumulative, allowing you to skip frequent updates after each incremental release. Every new Flex Patch release includes all the updates from previous releases. Similarly, each previous update leading to a minor release is carried out in each increment.

  • Revision Number — includes minor updates or fixes, often addressing specific bugs in Logpoint. These updates are usually incremental and may not introduce new features but focus on improving stability or resolving particular problems.

Every Flex Patch release includes all updates from previous releases. Flex Patches are either optional or critical and are labeled to help you identify whether you should install it or not.

  • Critical Flex Patches fix bugs, add new features, and include critical security-related fixes.

  • Optional Flex Patches fix bugs and add new features, but may not be relevant to your setup.
